Letter from our Chapter President, Patty Mehmood...
Hello, Everyone!
Is it really March already? It seems that Christmas was just a few weeks ago!
I guess time flies when you're having fun...Speaking of fun, I am just back from the annual PMA trade show and PPFA Chapter Leaders Conference in Anaheim, California.( No, I didn't see Mickey, but I saw lots of children with the hats) This year, PPFA hosted 36 members, representing 24 chapters. One of my favorite things about attending every year, is gathering with chapter leaders from all around the country, comparing notes, and exchanging ideas. I always leave feeling reinvigorated. There are some great chapters out there, and some that are struggling to continue. I am so proud of our chapter, and our loyal members who faithfully attend our meetings and workshops, as well as hosting meetings and teaching sessions for us. Another big highlight of the conference was being able to applaud our very own Pat and Bill Bradley, CPFs, of Bradleys Art and Frame as they accepted their PPFA Lifetime Achievement Award! I am proud to know them, and we are privileged to have them in our chapter. Congratulations, Pat and Bill!
We are planning a year full of exciting events, including Brian Wolfe's popular workshop, "
Happy Framing!

The Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the PPFA met on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Larson Juhl facility in
The meeting was a panel discussion on the topic “Survival Strategies in a Tough Economy” moderated by Bob Roberts, CPF of Larson Juhl.
The panel members were:
The panelists shared their vast experience and insights on building lasting relationships with clients and other great business practices. They came prepared with notes for the discussion and had examples of their marketing materials. The were candid about what has worked and what hasn’t and talked about what they will be doing in the future.
All who attended came away with questions answered and some terrific ideas to incorporate in their business.
The chapter would like to thank Larson Juhl for hosting this event, donating a door prize and for providing dinner for the group. We would also like to thank Nielsen Bainbridge for providing a list of great “Survival Tools” and for donating a door prize.
Door prize winners were Natalie Loli of Hollywood Frame Gallery who won a framed model and Lisa Crabtree, CPF of Frames of Distinction who also won a framed model.
We also had our Snowball Drawing for $50 and did not have a winner so the next drawing will be for $100.
